INVESTIGATIVE EDITORS FOCUSED ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE (job) / by Bear Guerra

Via The Marshall Project:

“The Marshall Project seeks an accomplished and versatile editor to develop high-impact journalism on the criminal justice system in states with high levels of incarceration, especially in the South. The job is part of an expansion of our regional coverage, aimed at finding stories with local repercussions and national resonance.

We’re looking for someone who has experience—at least five years—working with reporters from idea to conception through final line edit, helping to make fair, clear, gripping, well-told stories out of complicated policy and politics. The right candidate will be at ease with data, documents, public-records requests and other investigative reporting tools and with editing stories for any medium. Familiarity with the cultural diversity, history and politics of the region—and specifically policing, criminal courts and corrections—is an invaluable asset.”
