“The Associate Video Producer will provide editorial and production support to the Op-Docs team, and should have a demonstrated interest in documentary shorts and video journalism.

**Responsibilities may include:**

+Participate in weekly Opinion video ideation and workshop brainstorm sessions

+Review Op-Docs submissions; help ensure prospective filmmakers receive a timely response.

+Assist in the selection and curation of Op-Docs. 

+Prepare videos for publication using Adobe Premiere (place graphics, subtitles, credits; sync audio as needed; export and quality-control final outputs) 

+Oversee delivery and packaging of Op-Docs for theatrical screenings and festivals. 

+Coordinate filmmaker calls

+Assist with managing production pipeline 

+Liaise with festivals and filmmakers to solicit promising screeners

+Assist with submissions for awards, festivals and campaigns

+Help with fact-checking documentaries

+Build audience development and promotion plans 

+Help manage event logistics and marketing efforts

On a day-to-day basis, you will research, write and oversee the production of video packages that chronicle news from our missions.

On a less frequent basis, you will develop and host live broadcasts about NASA-JPL missions and projects, particularly during major mission events such as landings on Mars.

MegaCities-ShortDocs Film Festival, Edition 5. A festival of short documentary-films that highlight initiatives which seek to bring effective solutions to MegaCities’ challenges and inspire people to take actions to improve the life of MegaCitizens in their MegaCity.

Your ShortDoc film must:

  • show a challenge in your MegaCity (such as transportation, education, refugees, health, climate change, …) and solutions or ideas of new initiatives that could tackle such issues. A challenge that is potentially a theme with social or environmental impact covered by one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals from the United Nations,

  • take place inside the urban area of one existing megacities (1 of the 38 metropolitan areas of more than 10 Million inhabitants),

  • last no more than 4 minutes (including closing credits)

  • integrate English subtitles: the subtitles must be integrated to the ShortDoc in the following pattern: Police: Calibri, Normal, 70, in white. Black outline, size 2. The subtitles must be kept on one line only, in the lowest part of the screen.”
